Structural Mechanics
Structural Mechanics develops methods and theories that are important for designing structures in a way that meets requirements regarding strength, deformations, vibrations and durability. Statically and dynamically loaded structures of different materials, such as wood, concrete, glass, soil and rubber, are studied through experiments and numerical calculation and simulation methods, including the finite element method. Keywords: structural mechanics, computational mechanics, method development, finite element method, experiments, structures, buildings, strength, deformations, vibrations.
